حسب تقديرات العديد من المراكز الأمريكية لمكافحة الأمراض والوقاية منها. تشير الدراسات الأمريكية إلى أن عدد الولادات لأولياء الأمور الزائرين وصل إلى حوالي 10,000 طفل في عام 2017، مقارنة بنحو 7800 طفل سنويًا 2007
